Coach Lucas is a native of Page County, VA and is the father of a four-year-old girl (Riley) and one-year-old boy (Weston). He began his coaching career at 19 as a college freshman. He began as a varsity assistant and Head JV Boys’ Coach to Jim Sanders at Luray High School, assisting on two state tournament teams. In 2016, he took over as Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at Luray High School. Since 2016, the LHS Girls’ Basketball program has three Bull Run District titles, three Region 2B Titles, and three appearances in the 2A State Title Game, along with a 2A State Championship in 2021. Coach Lucas is three time district COY, three time region COY, along with State 2A COY in 2021. Through the past seven years, LHS has seen numerous players move on to play at the collegiate level along with experiencing nearly 30 playoff victories.
