Coach Sam LaClair has been working with Blaze Basketball for the last five seasons. He is currently a student manager for James Madison University Men’s Basketball where he is also pursuing his bachelor’s degree in exercise science. Prior to his new role, he was an assistant coach at Bridgewater College from 2020-21. LaClair also coached two seasons at Eastern Mennonite High School, where the Flames lost in the VISAA Division III title game each year. He was the head junior varsity coach one season and coached the team to the conference title. He also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Robert E. Lee High School (now Staunton High). The 2017 team won the VHSL 2A state championship and the 2018 squad finished as runner-up in the 2A state tournament.
