
Coach Sam LaClair has been working with Blaze Basketball for the last seven seasons and has an extensive basketball resume. Last year he was an assistant coach for the Boys Varsity Basketball Team at Staunton High School. Previously, he was the student manager for James Madison University Men’s Basketball where he also graduated with a degree in exercise science. Prior to his this, he was an assistant coach at Bridgewater College from 2020-21. LaClair also coached two seasons at Eastern Mennonite High School, where the Flames lost in the VISAA Division III title game each year. He was the head junior varsity coach one season and coached the team to the conference title. He also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Robert E. Lee High School (now Staunton). The 2017 team won the VHSL 2A state championship and the 2018 squad finished as runner-up in the 2A state tournament.
